Sunday and Monday I had the opportunity to partake in Doane Vocal Festival. Honor choirs are great for meeting new people, learning new things, and being reminded how many times we are forgiven. That last one seems a little out of place, so let me explain. After two rehearsals, the rest seemed pretty similar: go over a section, try the whole song, and move on to the next. But sometimes we forgot parts we had already gone over. So we would stop and go over the section again. “I love you all, but maybe don’t miss that next time,” the director would say. That to me sounds like a reminder from God. We go through life and learn from our mistakes, but sometimes we forget and make that mistake again. How incredible is it that God continues to forgive us, no matter how many times we mess up!? Time and time again God tells us he loves us, despite our sins. We may be repeat offenders, but God forgives us on repeat!
If you, O Lord, should Mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, that you may be feared. Psalm 130:3-4
