A little over a month ago I got a tattoo. I was really excited to share it with my close friends and I knew most people wouldn’t have a problem with it, however, I chose not to display it on social media. I didn’t want to disappoint anyone and I was afraid people would judge me, but I finally posted a picture on Instagram the other day. I realized the reason I got this tattoo was for myself, but I shouldn’t hide it. It’s like my faith — if I have it but don’t show it, I’m not doing any good to those around me. So maybe my tattoo won’t affect others’ lives, but its effect on me is a reminder. A reminder to live my life for the Lord and never hide my faith, because others need to see it.

In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:16

My Instagram post:

A little over a month ago I got a tattoo that I designed to remind myself of my life verse. [I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Philippians 4:13] Surrounded by the weakness of the world, there are times I need a physical reminder that I possess the mighty strength of the Lord.
